ST. MARTIN / ST. MAARTEN ENTERTAIMENT

Daytime Activities:

Water Sports – Snorkel on one of the top 5 Snorkel beaches: Dawn Beach, Pinel Island, Baie Rouge, Petite Plage in Grand Case to Creole Rock and Little Bay. Diving, jet skiing, kayaking, Sailing, Sunfish sailing, surfing, surf biking, windsurfing and body surfing are also popular water sports. Deep sea fishing is also a wonderful way to spend the day as well as a sailing or motor boat charter to another island.

Shopping – Whether on the Dutch side or the French side, this Duty Free Island makes shopping a pure pleasure! Designer clothing, jewelry, watches, handbags and other leather goods, perfumes and cosmetics, linens, art, gourmet items, cigars and alcohol make this island paradise the perfect place to spend your time and your money!

Things to do besides the beach – Butterfly farm, Lotterie Farm at Pic Paradis, Eco tours, Day Spas, golf, tennis, Underwater Explorations, swim with the Dolphins, horseback riding, visit the Children’s Zoo, art galleries and museums.

Day Trips – There are several nearby islands that make wonderful day trips and they can be reached by sea or air via private charters or group charters.

Anguilla is the nearest and easiest island to reach. There are ferries that leave Marigot harbor every half hour for the island and it is only a 20 minute ride at a cost of $12 one way. Once there you will see a vast difference between this island and St. Maarten – St. Martin. Topographically speaking it is long and flat and more semi arid than St. Martin. There are some very beautiful beaches, however, and this and the snorkeling alone make the trip worth while. This has become a very pricey island with a few very luxurious hotels and gourmet restaurants. There is a golf course being built which will be a big draw to people visiting the island.

St. Barths is a very small but sophisticated island, rich in history as well as jetsetters, rock stars, movie stars and royalty. They all flock here to get away from it all while enjoying the beauty of this very exclusive island. Haute couture shopping, beautiful beaches, exclusive hotels and villas as well as wonderful gourmet restaurants make this destination a real gem. A day trip to get the feel of how the rich and famous vacation is a fun thing to do and will not break the bank like staying on this beautiful little island for a week!

Saba and Nevis are also popular day trips and offer a look into the past as each island seems to have happily escaped the modern world of today. The museums, scenery, nature, rainforests and history make either island a trip to remember. Both are perfect for a day tour to a time long ago past but not forgotten.

Nightlife:

When the sun goes down, the action starts with wonderful dining on both sides of the island followed by the casinos and night clubs. Some of the restaurants offer not only good food but live music starting around 8pm. After hours - from 10pm, there are many choices including Bliss, Cheri’s Café, Q Club, M Club, Havana Too, Cohibar, The Greenhouse, Soprano’s, Celine’s Lagoon Pub Crawl, Jazz night clubs, Reggae Café, Salsa dancing at Tito Salsa or La Bodeguita del Medio in Marigot and adult entertainment in the Maho Beach area.

For those not so adventurous there are also 2 nice new movie theaters in Simpson Bay with a total of around 10 movie screens showing all the newest released movies. Showtimes are around 7pm and 9pm.
